Vlog #77: Brian Ussery On GoogleBot & SEO For E-Commerce Sites Brian Ussery is the Director of SEO at Razorfish in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also a Google Product Expert at the Google webmaster help forums. He has been doing SEO since 2000, we are both very old folks in SEO. We both were moderators at the Search Engine Watch Forums back in the day. We joked a bit about the early days of SEO and had a bit of fun there. He said he never spammed, he studied Google from an academic perspective only. He was always very big into writing better content, even in the early days of links being king. Google Search Ranking Update I am seeing some early chatter and signals that there may be another, currently unconfirmed,  Google search ranking algorithm update  happening. It seems to have started yesterday, July 23rd, and continuing throughout today, July 24th. You may see it yourself if you compare your real-time Google traffic to a normal day or you slice and dice your traffic by the hour. I am seeing both chatter and discussions about this within the SEO community , both on  WebmasterWorld  and Black Hat World and some on Twitter as well. Bing URL Submissions Plugin For WordPress Bing URL Submissions Plugin For WordPress Bing  announced  a new WordPress plugin that integrates your WordPress site with the  Bing Webmaster Tools URL submission API . In short, the plugin looks for new and updated content and automatically submits it to Bing for fast indexing. Most of you who run larger CMS platforms probably have already integrated your sites with the Bing Webmaster Tools URL submission API. I did here, took an hour or so to get live. But if you do not have the technical capabilities of doing so, you can just grab  this WordPress plugin  that is powered and supported by the Bing team.
